Materials Needed:

| Step #1
Side of Hat Box Cut the index card 1 1/4 “ wide by 4” long. Trial fit around dowel make sure ends meet and does not over lap. If the ends overlap, trim the end back |

Cut a piece of mini wallpaper the 1 1/4 “ wide by 4 1/8” long, for a tab. |

| Step #3
Spread a thin layer of glue on the index card and place the mini wallpaper on the index card. Wrap this around the tube. Put a small amount of glue on the tab and glue in place. Let this pieces stay on the dowel to dry. Try turning a few times so the hat box does not stick to the dowel, from any extra glue. This piece should turn freely |

| Step #5Follow the same process in step 3. Allowing both pieces to completely dry. | ![]() |

Bottom and Top Lid Trace two 1 1/4” circles on index card tracing around the dowel. Cut one circle on the tracing line and cut the second just outside the traced line. |

Trace the circles on the wallpaper and cut. Glue the wallpaper and circle together. |

Once the side and lid is completely dry remove them from the dowel. |

| Step #9
Cover the surface of the hat box lid and the bottom of the hat box. Place the smaller circle on the bottom and the larger on the lid. |

Once the circles have completely dried, use scissors, and trim the excess wallpaper from the lid and bottom. |

Now it’s time to add time to add any trim you choose. |
