*Tip*: Select the right spot to work on your doll house project
Before you even open your dollhouse kit, be sure to select a suitable spot to work on your miniature building project. Here are a few things to consider before you decide where to settle down to work.Â
- Have a sizable, sturdy workspace with plenty of room to lay out all of the supplies you need. It should also be large enough to hold the dollhouse comfortably when it’s fully assembled. You should be able to display the assembly instructions so they are easily accessible to reference frequently during your project.
- Ideally, you should be able to leave your tools, dollhouse and workspace in place, even when you’re not working on the house.  Relocating or packing/unpacking your project is not only time consuming but will greatly increase the chance of errors and less-than-optimal results.
- Be absolutely certain that your workspace is well-ventilated. The glues, paints and other supplies that you will be using can become dangerous to your health if fumes are allowed to build up in an enclosed area.
Making sure that you will have plenty of room and have all your dollhouse parts and supplies organized and at the ready will end up saving you a lot of time. To get the most out of your project, take time up front to set up a safe and adequate work area. Nobody wants to spend time looking for parts that should have been inventoried and properly marked at the beginning of the project. This way your time is spent enjoying each and every step that goes into construction.
